How many videos does it need to learn a style?
Five to ten typical videos is enough to start. You can add more at any time; the profile updates itself, and recent videos count for more.
What if there are no published videos yet?
It still works. Without a profile, Snitt rough-cuts with default settings and leaves more decisions to you.
I edit for several creators — can I keep their styles separate?
Yes. Each creator gets their own profile, learned from their own videos, and every project is cut with the profile you pick for it.
What kind of videos does it work best on?
Talking-head A-roll: tutorials, vlogs, commentary, courses. If someone is speaking to the camera, it is in Snitt’s lane.
Does it support multicam A-roll?
Not yet — we are currently working on adding it.
Does it handle separately recorded audio?
Yes. Add the audio files to the project and Snitt syncs them to the camera audio automatically.
How long does a cut take?
It depends on how much footage you hand it. Jobs run in the background, so you can keep working while it processes.
Does it export to Premiere or Resolve?
Not yet — more video editors are coming. Snitt exports to Final Cut Pro today, and it can also render an MP4.
Which languages does it handle?
More than 90 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese and Arabic.
What are minutes, and what do I get free?
Snitt meters on minutes of footage it processes — your raw footage, and the published videos it learns from. Every new account starts with 10 hours of free credit.
Nothing is for sale during the beta. When you run low, the app shows a Request more minutes button: answer a short questionnaire and 10 more hours are added to your account. That works once per account — after that, write to contact@snitt.ai.
Is the cut editable afterwards?
Yes. The export is a normal timeline with the media already linked — everything stays editable in your editor.
Does it replace an editor?
Not completely. Snitt makes the rough cut — silences, abandoned takes, filler words, off-script moments, noise. B-roll, graphics and grading are still the editor’s work.
If all you need is a clean A-roll cut, Snitt might be enough on its own: finish it in the transcript and render the MP4.
Is it Mac only?
At the moment, yes — macOS 15 or later on Apple silicon. More platforms are on the roadmap.
Why not another AI cutting tool?
Other tools apply the same defaults to everyone. Snitt learns from your own published videos and cuts in your style.
We benchmark against professionally edited, published versions of the same footage; the numbers and method are on the benchmark page.
