The Snitt app bundles open-source software. This page lists it, and where to get the source.
Bundled components
- FFmpeg — LGPL-2.1. Built without GPL components. This software uses libraries from the FFmpeg project under the LGPLv2.1, and is based in part on the work of the Independent JPEG Group.
- dav1d — BSD 2-Clause. AV1 decoding.
- yt-dlp (bundled helper binary) — the combined binary is distributed under GPLv3, as it embeds components under GPL and LGPL licenses.
- Sparkle — the update framework, under its own permissive license.
The full license texts are in the app: Snitt ▸ About ▸ Licences.
Corresponding source
The source code for the bundled open-source components — exactly the versions we ship, with build instructions — is available at download.snitt.ai/source.
Their licenses give you the right to inspect, modify and rebuild these components, and nothing in our terms or licence takes that away.
